Error Codes

Setting up DataDirector to Download Data

To Start DataDirector:

  • Click the start button
  • Select Programs
  • Select Paritech
  • Click on DataDirector

You will need to enter your User Name and Password as required (Case sensitive). You would of received an email advising you of these already, or if you did not provide us with an email address, you would have found this information enclosed with your invoice. Ticking the Save Password box will avoid you having to enter the passwords each time you log on (please record user name and password in a safe place for future reference).

View and accept the license agreement as applicable.

  • Click the Yes button to start setting up DataDirector to download data that you require.
  • When the window below appears you should click yes to start setting up DataDirector.

If this Window does not appear click the Database Wizard button shown below.
You may need to click on Options then click on "Use database wizard" to view the Database wizard button.

NOTE: You can only download data that you have subscribed to.  e.g. If you have purchased ASX Equities/Indices data only select ASX Equities and ASX Indices. All other markets should be left unticked.

Follow the Wizard instructions as they appear on the screen, noting the following:

  • Choose the program you are using the data with (i.e. MetaStock, OmniTrader, Stex). If you require data with Volume divided by 100, then choose the appropriate Vol/100 listing.

  • Click the Next button.
  • Select which Exchange you want to download and have subscribed to.

  • Click the show all button if you have also subscribed to an overseas market such as the American Stock Exchange

  • Click the Next button.

When you specify your Destination Folder C:\Shares note that the data will be placed in a Shares folder that will sit on your C drive then into one of the following subfolders: Au-Asx, or if you have selected any of the other markets, for example SFE or Overseas Indices (WCSP) then a subfolder for that market will be created. It is always best to leave this as the default folder. For example, if you specify C:\Shares as your Destination Folder, then ASX data will be placed in C:\Shares\Au-Asx and SFE data will be placed in C:\Shares\Au-Sfe and Overseas Data will be placed in C:\Shares\Wcsp.


  • Click the Next button.
  • When the Summary screen appears review your selections, then once you are satisfied that all is correct click the Finish button. DataDirector is now configured to download and install data into your computer.
